Sweet Boy

So we were watching Animal Planet. They were showing Seagulls or Pelicans, some type of sea bird, that would pluck up little baby penguins and feed them to their babies. Ben made the comment," Oh look mommy they are just bringing their babies a friend." So sweet and innocent. I had to answer, " Yes sweetheart they are just bringing their babies a friend." He will find out the truth some day but for now I like the friend story too.

Kitchen Clean Up

I never thought I would almost be brought to tears by having my dinner table cleared. But tonight I was there. After dinner tonight we had a short get to know you Family Night. One of my easiest Family Night ideas. Every now and then we sit around and ask questions like favorite color, favorite shirt, favorite food, favorite sport, what to be when they grow up,place you would love to go with just Dad or Mom, etc. So fun to hear answers. Anyhow after the short get to know you, my boys quickly started clearing the table. Not just the usual taking their own plate to the sink but they cleared the whole table and put food away where it goes and wiped the table down. Scott asked what I had bribed them with. I laughed and said nothing. They have always helped us with this chore but never so anxious to do it all by themselves. Scott and I just sat and watched and smiled! They are growing up so fast. I guess it is time to start giving more chores and trusting they can handle it. I just still see them as my babies. I love those boys!

How Firm a Foundation!

Jacob is going to give a talk this Sunday. We were going over it and practicing it when I asked him what his testimony is so we could write that down to share. He started singing How Firm a Foundation! It touched my heart and makes my eyes drip right now. I am so happy he is getting it! I am the Primary Chorister and hope that I am planting that seed in the childrens' hearts. I want them to know each song CAN be a TESTIMONY! So awesome especially since his talk is on the Family Proclamation and how it teaches us about families. So true Jacob we need to have a Firm Foundation in the Lord and his teachings and the revelations that he gives to our Prophets. I love you Jacob and am so happy you are gaining that Firm Foundation.

So sweet!

Me: Jacob I love you.
Jacob: I love you more.
Me: All the way to the moon and back?
Jacob: No all the way to Pluto and back!

I love that boy!

Kindergarten

Well it has happened! The boys are in all day Kindergarten. I'm so proud of them. They are doing so good. We have put them in separate classes. They are very competitive and we figured it would be better separated. Also we wanted to give the teacher a fighting chance. =) The first day was really hard for me. I did not cry much at all. I just could not sit still. I was so nervous for them. I did not know what to do with myself. This is week two and I am starting to get into a routine of sorts. I think I am even starting to enjoy my quiet time, and the fact that when I clean the house it stays clean, at least until the boys get home. I also have Bentley, the 2 1/2 year old boy I care for, to help me pass the time. I do not have him every day but it does keep me busy. All and all we are adjusting well. They really are good boys that Ben and Jake!
